Legendary TXHSFB head coach announces retirement

Corsicana head coach Hal Wasson, who won a state championship with Southlake Carroll, has announced his retirement.

Wasson has spent 33 years as a head coach, amassing a 256-125-3 record. He was a head coach at Italy, San Saba, Pittsburg, Mexia, Liberty Hill, Keller Fossil Ridge, Southlake Carroll and Corsicana, and was also the athletic director at Irving ISD in 2018.

He won a state championship as a head coach at Carroll in 2011 and was an assistant on multiple state title teams at Carroll under Todd Dodge.
