Todd Peterman’s time in Western Tarrant County has ended as sources have confirmed he has resigned his post after four seasons, three playoff appearances and a 20-21 overall record.
Coach Peterman arrived to Brewer with much fanfare in 2018 after three seasons in DeSoto, where he lead the Eagles to a state title in 2016. The Bears made the playoffs in his first season, but stumbled to a 2-8 mark in 2019 while playing a team full of youth.
After a surprise playoff appearance in 2020, the Bears posted their best mark in the Peterman-era posting an 8-3 record in 2021, falling a close game to eventual regional semifinalist Midlothian 21-17. The 2021 season resulted in the most victories for a Brewer team since 1991 and the Bears earning a share of their first district title in 24 years.
Peterman’s departure leaves a very attractive opening as Brewer has outstanding facilities and is in a desirable location just west of Fort Worth, this opening will be one to watch and Peterman with a resume that includes a state title will be a coach that undoubtedly will be in the mix for future head coaching openings that pop up in the DFW area this off-season.
