Southlake Carroll 2022 TE RJ Maryland (6'4, 225) announced a commitment to SMU at Dave Campbell's Texas Football studios on National Signing Day.
Maryland is rated as a DCTF three-star prospect, checking in as the No. 5 TE in the state.
Scouting Report: A big-bodied pass catcher, Maryland is the son of former Dallas Cowboy Russell Maryland. With his size, body control, and leaping ability, RJ has created his own name as an athletic mismatch for Southlake opponents.
Maryland was named the 4-6A Co-Offensive Player of the Year after collecting 62 receptions for 1,103 yards and 14 touchdowns as a senior in 2021.
