Frisco Wakeland 2023 OT Connor Stroh (6'7, 345) is one of the next offensive line prospects to get familiar with when the 2023 class takes center stage. Stroh is a mountain of a man with a frame that is hard to miss at the prep level. Already showcasing a P5 body, Stroh is impressive in his build and movement for his size.
Stroh opened eyes in a big playoff win over Highland Park, the state's all-time winningest program, in the second round of the TXHSFB 5A Divison II playoffs.
"We knew it was going to be a big challenge, and so we put that mindset into everything we did this week. We worked really hard this week and we went out there and beat them. It's a really good feeling," Stroh said in true euphoria.
Stroh, who is known for his devastating run-blocking abilities, uses his size and mass to move the line of scrimmage forward and flashes potential in pass protection. He's still learning the game and is gaining valuable experience with every snap after missing his sophomore season with a lower-body injury.
"I've gained a lot of experience now, but I'm still learning new stuff every game. Right now, I'm just working on getting better," Stroh told DCTF.
Stroh's recruitment has started to gain traction. He's made unofficial visits to Arkansas, Oklahoma, SMU, Texas and Texas A&M. He highlighted his time spent at Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
Stroh noted Arkansas' beautiful campus and his developing relationships with the Sooner and Longhorn coaching staffs.
"I love all of the coaches, including the Texas staff, and the Oklahoma coaches made me feel good. It was a really nice visit," Stroh noted.
Regarding Texas offensive line coach Kyle Flood, Stroh likes the growing relationship between the two and feels like Flood has become a personal friend. Texas offered the Wakeland prospect in October while he was on campus for the Oklahoma State game. Becoming his first and only offer.
Oklahoma offensive line Bill Bedenbaugh is another excellent developer of linemen. He also has a history of plucking some high-level talent out of the DFW area. In connection to Stroh, he's started to build an early solid relationship based on consistency. According to Stroh they communicate almost daily now.
Academics is something that Stroh values in his decision-making process for a school. At Wakeland he takes multiple AP courses with his Twitter account listing a 3.7 GPA. Schools with good academic standing may be able to use this to their advantage in his recruitment.
