Friday night, Klein Cain won dominantly over Cypress Woods, 52-20, to capture the UIL Bi-District crown. DCTF four-star WR Matthew Golden (6'0, 190) finished with four receptions for 26 yards and one touchdown.

Golden, a one-time TCU commit, chose to reopen his recruitment following the dismissal of Gary Patterson. 

Texas, Minnesota, and LSU quickly entered the conversation by offering Golden within days after he parted ways with TCU.

Official visits are something to keep track of as Golden tries to narrow his decision. He plans to take his visits in December with several schools on the docket. 

On Friday, he told reporters that Houston, Texas and LSU visits are most likely.

Golden has been in contact with Texas wide receivers coach Andre Coleman and head coach Steve Sarkisian. 

"The relationship keeps getting stronger," informed Golden.  

When asked if Texas would get an official visit from Golden in December, he answered, "Yes, most definitely."

LSU and Houston are also schools of strong interest. Official visits to these two contenders could also be in the plans.

"U of H most definitely," Golden told reporters. "I mean, I haven't set any other ones but most likely LSU too."

Golden unofficially visited Baylor on Saturday morning for the Bears' victory over Oklahoma.

"The coaches wanted me to come up to the game and be around them get a feeling for the school," Golden explained. "The relationship has been good since we’ve been talking. Been talking with coach 'Juice' (Justin Johnson), (Chansi) Stuckey, and (Brian) Nance. I liked what I (have) seen in the offense and the way they throw the ball."

For LSU, it's been recruiting specialist Mason Smith leading the way in Golden's recruitment as the head coaching situation in Baton Rouge is unsettled. With early graduation plans, the coaching situation there will heavily factor into play. 

Golden will need to decide sooner rather than later as he still plans to enroll in January.

"I'm graduating early (December), so I have to most likely sign early," Golden said.

Golden is now somewhat of a veteran of the recruiting process, and this time around, he is looking for certain qualities in a college. 

"Relationships," Golden said when asked what he is looking for. "Somewhere I can see myself grow as a man. And somewhere I can come in and compete and go to the next level."

Klein Cain will play Spring on Friday at 7:00 PM at Klein's Memorial Stadium in the second round of the 6A Division I playoffs.
