Note: Teams are measured against the overall strength of their conference.

Sam Houston (9-0) Last Week: 1 - The Bearkats are a machine and are making a solid case for the top seed in FCS playoffs.

Mary Hardin-Baylor (10-0) Last Week: 2 - The Cru was impressive in their final regular-season tuneup and meet Trinity at noon on Saturday.

Hardin-Simmons (9-1) Last Week: 3 - The Cowboys should be in the playoffs, and there is no reasonable excuse to explain why HSU was left out.

Trinity (9-0) Last Week: 4 - Trinity has been building towards this for a few years and will be a tough out in the playoffs.

UIW (8-2) Last Week: 5 - The Cardinals can earn their first automatic bid to the FCS playoffs and a share of the Southland title with a win over HBU.

SFA (7-3) Last Week: 6 - Do you believe in SFA yet? This ‘Jacks team is on the rise, and Colby Carthel and staff are showing no signs of letting up.

Angelo State (9-2) Last Week: 7 - The Rams have won five in a row and have been impressive in each game. ASU is primed for a playoff run.

Midwestern State (7-3) Last Week: 10 - MSU had a fantastic season winning the LSC, but two late-season losses spelled doom for playoff hopes.

Texas Wesleyan (7-3) Last Week: 9 - The Rams finish the season tied for second in the Sooner Athletic Conference and are a team on the rise.

Prairie View A&M (7-2) Last Week: 8 - The Panthers fall this week after a close loss to rival Alcorn State. PVAMU can still lock up SWAC West title in two weeks.

Tyler (6-4) Last Week: 19 - Earning a spot in the SWJCFC championship game deserves recognition and a jump in the rankings.

SAGU (8-3) Last Week: 11 - Make that five straight wins for the Lions, who are hosting the Victory Bowl against Sterling College this week.

Texas A&M-Commerce (7-4) Last Week: 12 - The Lions are leaving DII football and the LSC on a winning note after defeating Eastern New Mexico.

West Texas A&M (7-4) Last Week: 13 - WT won its final two games of the season and can use that momentum in the offseason.

Howard Payne (7-3) Last Week: 16 - HPU finished with its best record since 2005, and this is a program quickly rising towards the top of the ASC.

Abilene Christian (5-5) Last Week: 25 - The Wildcats produced their best win of the season, and it’s a win this program desperately needed.

Tarleton (5-5) Last Week: 14 - Six turnovers kept the Texans’ offense from scoring at its usual clip in a disappointing road loss to ACU.

Blinn (5-5) Last Week: 15 - Blinn did not fare better against NMMI the second time around, but the Buccaneers had a good season overall.

Texas A&M-Kingsville (5-5) Last Week: 17 - The Javelinas played their worst game of the season last week and ended with a tough loss to Angelo State.

Kilgore (5-5) Last Week: 18 - It’s been a tough year for a Kilgore squad who began the year with national title aspirations.

Trinity Valley (5-4) Last Week: 20 - Injuries derailed the Cardinals’ season after an impressive five straight wins to open their 2021 campaign.

East Texas Baptist (5-5) Last Week: 21 - ETBU is another team decimated by injuries towards the end of the season.

Navarro (5-4) Last Week: 22 - The Bulldogs ended their season on a positive note with a 35-30 win over Cisco.

UTPB (5-5) Last Week: 23 - The Falcons finished with a close road loss to MSU but will continue to take steps toward the top of the LSC.

Cisco (4-5) Last Week: 24 - The Wranglers struggled to reproduce their amazing run to the spring SWJCFC title during the fall campaign.

Southwestern (4-6) Last Week: 27 - The Pirates ended their season with two straight wins and have a bright future ahead.

Texas Southern (3-7) Last Week: 26 - The Tigers led for the majority of the game last week before falling late to Alabama A&M.

Texas Lutheran (3-7) Last Week: 28 - The Bulldogs will hit the recruiting trail hard this year and look to improve on a tough season.

Sul Ross State (2-7) Last Week: 29 - SRSU is a young team with only eight seniors and will be ready to compete in the near future.

McMurry (2-7) Last Week: 30 - The fast rebuild hit a snag late in the season, but this program is light years ahead of where they were two years ago.

Lamar (2-8) Last Week: 31 - The Cardinals continue to fight every minute of every game but have faced a murder’s row of competition lately.

Wayland Baptist (2-8) Last Week 32 - The Pioneers showed signs of improvement against the top of the conference in their last two games.

Austin College (1-8) Last Week: 33 - The ‘Roos have a lot of underclassmen who saw valuable playing time this season. That will pay dividends next year.

Texas College (0-11) Last Week: 34 - Greg Ellis seems to be the right fit for a Steers program that must focus on funding and recruiting.

Houston Baptist (0-10) Last Week: 35 - It’s been a challenging year for the Huskies, who now play a motivated UIW team.
