One of the biggest shockwaves came this weekend when DCTF No. 57 prospect CB Marcus Scott II (6'2, 170) announced that he was switching his commitment from LSU to Missouri.
Scott also confirmed that he has plans to play for Conroe in 2021 after helping guide The Woodlands College Park to a state championship in the 4x400 relay.
"It was a crazy experience being on a college campus running in front of that many people on the biggest stage possible, and bringing home the gold," Scott said. "It was a real surreal moment whenever we crossed that line."
Scott has the size of a safety, but the skill set of a cornerback and he plans to use that set of skills on 'The Island' in college. It takes a special breed to take on the opposition's best receiver every play and Scott feels like he has that mentality.
"To be a corner you have to be kinda crazy," Scott explained. "You have to walk the borderline between being cocky and I would say being confident. You have to be confident about yourself and you also have to have that swagger about yourself, because the receivers are going to come with it every single time. The receiver's job is to try and expose the DB, so you have to have the same mentality going right back at them."
