And that means his son -- 2023 Five-Star defensive end David "DJ" Hicks (6'4, 250) -- is also headed to Allen to play his junior campaign for Chad Morris.
Hicks has 30 scholarship offers, making him the most heavily recruited defensive prospect in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex in the 2023 cycle.
Offers: Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Houston, LSU, Miami (FL), Michigan, Michigan State, Missouri, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, SMU, Stanford, TCU, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, USC, UTSA, Washington
Hicks was named to 2023 Top 25 in the DCTF Rising Magazine and was a standout at the Next Level Athlete Top 100 Showcase in Houston.
Hicks is rated as a DCTF four-star and a 247Sports Composite five-star prospect.
