Baylor has added a commitment from Buffalo transfer offensive lineman Jacob Gall, rated one of the top linemen in America. Gall has one year of eligibility remaining.

The grad transfer started all seven games of the limited MAC season for Buffalo. The Bulls went 6-1 and finished the season No. 25 in the AP Poll after a win in the Camellia Bowl over Marshall.

Pro Football Focus rated Gall the top left guard in America with a 90.5 overall blocking grade. He anchored a Buffalo line that was a finalist for the Joe Moore Award as the best offensive line in America. Gall led the Bulls individually in both pass and run block grade.

Gall is a massive addition to a Baylor offensive line that struggled dramatically in Dave Aranda's first season, especially as the Bears make the switch from inside zone to wide zone under new offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes. Baylor ranked as perhaps the best wide zone blockers in America last season before Lance Leipold left to take the Kansas job.

While Gall played left guard at Buffalo, he could also play center, where he played in high school. In addition to mainstay left tackle Connor Galvin, the Bears added Vanderbilt center Grant Miller as a transfer. Three starters are back on the offensive line, but with a new scheme that emphasizes mobility and athleticism up front, there will be competition.
