This week's Dave Campbell's Texas Football Helmet Sticker recipients
Ce’Cori Tolds, UIW
Those who read this week’s UIW preview may recall seeing Cardinals kick returner Ce’Cori Tolds as a player to watch.
It did not take long for Tolds to make me look far wiser than I am when he returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter.
The kickoff return for a touchdown was the third of the junior from Manvel High School’s career which ties him with another former Cardinal, Desmond Hite, for fourth on the Southland Conference career leaderboard.
Akeem Jackson, Mary Hardin-Baylor
UMHB has a long history of producing quality linebackers and Akeem Jackson is the leader of this year’s corps.
The senior from Fairfield, Texas led the Cru defense with 13 total tackles (nine solo), four tackles for loss, one sack, and forced a fumble against Southwestern.
Clayton Roberts, UT Permian Basin
Clayton Roberts is the quarterback for the Falcons this spring after splitting time with Kameron Mathis in 2019.
The redshirt junior from St. Pius X High School in Houston is wasting little time leaving his mark on the program after tying the Falcons single-game record for touchdown passes in a 33-14 win over Southern Nazarene.
Roberts tied the record with four touchdown passes but also was huge on the ground for UTPB gaining 101 yards on 12 carries.
