After finishing the season with a 9-2 record, Manvel 2022 DB Collin Wright (6-0, 185) is ready to gear up for an offseason that should be a busy one.
The talented secondary player has a number of offers in hand, and his goal is to visit as many of those colleges as possible.
"At the moment, I have offers from Houston, Colorado and UNLV. I'd say at some point I hear from them every day," said Wright, who also just added offers from Arizona, Kansas and UTSA to go with strong interest from Ole Miss.
"I think this offseason I can be able to see whose showing the most love. Hopefully, this year I can visit these schools and see what they have to offer."
College coaches see Wright as a potential player who can line up anywhere in the defensive backfield.
"All of the schools like me as a defensive back, but not just at one position," Wright said. "They like me at cornerback, safety and the nickel. The coaches see me as a versatile player who has a nose for the football. I have great instincts, and I see myself as a great team player."
One thing is for sure. Many more programs will likely show up interested in Wright's talents.
Wright finished the 2020 season with 59 tackles, four interceptions, a sack and 108 yards as a punt returner.
