2022 WR Noah Thomas (6'5, 180) and his Clear Springs Chargers finished the 2020 season with a 24-6A district title before falling to Pearland in the 6A bi-district round. During their seven-win season, Thomas made the transition from defense to offense.
"It was great. This was my first year playing wide receiver and it was a great experience. Love my coaches and my boys, but we came up short in the first round of the playoffs to Pearland," Thomas said in recap of his season.
A year ago he played cornerback for the Chargers. However, in his transition to offense, Thomas accumulated 40 receptions for 881 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Galveston County prospect is intriguing to watch on the field with his basketball type frame. Thomas provides both impressive height and length on the perimeter of an offense. Along with that, he does provide an ability to make plays with the ball in his hand. The big-framed targe shows that he can climb the ladder and has playmaking ability after the catch.
At this point in his recruitment 10 schools have offered Thomas with other schools starting to show increased interest.
Those who have already offered include Texas A&M, Notre Dame, Penn State, South Carolina, Arkansas, Baylor, California, Colorado, Houston and Tennessee.
"It's truly a blessing," Thomas exclaimed!
When asked to highlight contacts in his recruitment that have stood out so far he mentioned Cal wide receivers coach Burl Toler III.
This offseason Thomas plans to compete in 7-on-7 to get more exposure and continue to sharpen his competitive edge. From a skill standpoint, he'll be emphasizing his footwork out of his breaks.
"I'll mainly be working on getting out of my breaks. First year playing wide receiver, I got to keep working on that," Thomas stated.
With his momentum continuing to pick up Noah Thomas is a name in the 2022 class who is amid a considerable rise in recruiting.
