Pleasant  Grove 2021 DE Landon Jackson (6'5, 240) committed to LSU on Sunday. The four-star DCTF prospect picked the defending national champions over offers from schools like Arkansas, Alabama, Miami (FL), Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, and Washington.

"I would like to thank my parents, coaches, and teammates for everything they have done to allow me to be the player I am today," Jackson said. "I would also like to thank all the college coaches who took the time to recruit me, but with that being said I am committed to Louisiana State University."

The Tigers finished the 2019-20 season with a 15-0 record and led all teams with 14 NFL Draft picks in the 2020 NFL Draft. LSU quarterback Joe Burrow won the Heisman trophy and was selected with the No. 1 pick by the Cincinnati Bengals.

Defensive end K'Lavon Chaisson was selected with the 20th pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jackson is most likely set to play in a somewhat similar role as Chaisson in the LSU defense.

Jackson checks in as the No. 6 prospect in the early DCTF 2021 prospect rankings and is currently rated as the No. 2 DE in the state.

Analysis: Elite prospect among the nation's best pass-rushers in the 2021 class. Lightning quick off the snap. Bends better than expected for a very tall, long prospect and runs the arc like a natural. The exact positional home depends on continued physical development and college scheme.

As a junior in 2019, Jackson racked up 56 tackles, 15 tackles for a loss, and nine sacks to help lead his team to a state championship win. He earned 4A Defensive Player of the Year and All-American honors for his efforts.
