We want to celebrate senior student-athletes across the state of Texas who have had their seasons cut short due to the Coronavirus pandemic! Have a male or female student-athlete you think deserves recognition? Email us at william.wilkerson@texasfootball.com with a bit about what makes them so special, including on-field and classroom accomplishments and pictures!
My brother, Cade Merka, is a triple sport athlete in Argyle. He played football, ran hurdles (ran varsity his freshman year), and his main sport was baseball. He was the starting third baseman for the back-to-back state & national champion teams, and will be playing baseball at Texas A&M. Not only is his athletic ability top notch, he was admitted to the Mays School of Business as a freshman at A&M.
He is devastated to not get to defend his back to back championships, but he will miss so many of the great Argyle graduation tradition that I got to experience 10 years ago.
