10 DI Prospects to Watch

WR Quin Bright - Cedar Hill: Bright is a ball of energy on the field. His elite speed and route running skills make him extremely hard to lock down in a one-on-one setting. Bright recently made a commitment to Texas Tech, and he figures to be an elite playmaker in the Red Raiders offense.

WR Quentin Johnston - Temple: Johnson has the size and ability to dominate games completely. He is hard to cover in 7-on-7, so expect him to get double-teamed often. Naylor, TCU, Texas and Oklahoma have offered.

CB Dwight McGlothern - Klein Oak: A massive addition to the Klein Oak defensive backfield. McGlothern helped lead Trinity Christian-Cedar Hill to a state title in 2018. He has the length and range of a safety and the cover skills of a corner. Texas, Alabama, Georgia, LSU and Oregon are in play for his signature.

WR Marvin Mims - Frisco Lone Star: One of the top uncommitted prospects in the states. Mims has elite speed and route-running skills. He is considering offers from schools like Illinois, Tulsa, Arkansas, SMU, TCU, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Nebraska, Arizona State, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, Baylor, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Stanford.

QB Garrett Nussmeier (2021) - Flower Mound Marcus: Nussmeier has developed into a top of the line college prospect, and his offer list (15) reflects his development. With Nussmeier under center, the Marauders will get the ball up and down the field in a hurry.

WR Ja'Lynn Polk - Lufkin: Polks is one of the state's most explosive vertical playmakers. He can climb the ladder and make impressive lays over the top of defenses, but he has the other tools to make plays anywhere on the field.

WR Devin Price - A&M Consolidated: Price will form one of the tournament's top offensive combinations with teammate and Oklahoma commit Brian Darby. Price is a massive pass-catching target who has continued to refine his skill set.  His dad (Terry Price) coaches at Texas A&M.

CB Jahari Rogers - Arlington: You will likely get to see Rogers on both sides of the ball. He played quarterback and cornerback to help the Colts qualify. He checks in as a four-star 'Athlete' in the DCTF Ratings. Rogers is also slated to compete at The Opening Finals on Sunday. Schools like Texas, TCU, Florida, Arkansas, Penn State and Tennesse are contenders.

WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Rockwall: The Ohio State commit is one of the most productive wide receivers in the nation. He is dependable, reliable, and effective in all phases of the game. Most importantly, he is fun to watch.

S Darius Snow - Hebron: Snow is an enforcer in the middle of the field, but he has also been impressive in 7-on-7 action where he displays leadership and solid coverage skills. Snow is committed to Michigan State where his dad (Percy Snow) starred on the hardwood.

S Jerrin Thompson - Lufkin: Thompson closes on the football in an instant. He has double-digit offers, and most of them have come in from P5 schools. Thompson is a natural leader at the safety spot. TCU, Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame and Ole Miss are in play in his recruitment.

Note: Lake Travis QB Hudson Card is slated to compete in the Elite 11 Finals during the 7-on-7.

5 DII Prospects to Watch

CB Korie Black - Waco Connally: Black is a defensive back with plus size and the ability to hang in a receiver's hip pocket up and down the field. He picked up an abundance of offers before committing to Oklahoma State. Also keep an eye on Connally's RB Jayveon Sunday, who is committed to Washington.

WR Jay Wilkerson - Midlothian Heritage: Wilkerson helped lead Heritage to the championship last year, and he has a dangerous combination of skills that include a plus catch radius and deceptive speed. Wilkerson holds offers from schools like Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, North Texas, SMU, Kansas, Illinois and Minnesota.

QB Brendon Lewis - Melissa: One of the highest rated quarterbacks in the tournament. Lewis is already verbally committed to Colorado. He is known as a dual threat, but he is accurate in the pocket.

WR AJ McCarty - Brownwood: McCarty recently committed to play at Baylor and he shined in the qualifying tournament to help Brownwood punch a ticket to the championship tournament. He is quick and explosive in and out of his breaks.

TE Allen Horace  - Crockett: The big tight end will be a headache for linebackers to cover. His size advantage should make him an option that his QB will utilize early and often. Horace is committed to Arkansas.

3 DIII Prospects to Watch

TE John Holcomb - Wellington: Holcomb has picked up offers from schools like North Texas, Texas State, Kansas, Indiana, and SMU. He can play on both sides of the football in college but should make waves as a receiver/tight end in this tournament.

WR Jeremy Patton (2022) - Tenaha: The youngest player in this preview is the small town sophomore to be. Patton has good measurables (6'1, 170) and the chance to really open some eyes at this tournament. Colleges are monitoring his progress closely.

ATH Tyrese Grant - Daingerfield: A genuine two-way threat who is getting looks to play cornerback and wide receiver in college. Schools like Tulsa, Texas Southern, ULM and Southern Miss have offered. Grant is a quick-twitch player who is smooth in and out of his breaks.
