Jersey Village 2019 OL Patrick Paul (6'7, 330) announced his commitment to Houston on Monday morning. Paul picked the Cougars over an offer from Tulsa, where his brother Chris Paul is on roster.
"First, I would like to thank the good Lord for blessing me with an opportunity to play at the next level," Paul said. "I would also like to thank my family, friends, and coaches for helping throughout my recruiting. With that being aid I am glad to announce that I am committing the the University of Houston."
Paul had a strong senior seaosn that put him on the radar of some college programs. He picked up his first offer from Tulsa on Nov. 8 and Houston ofered on Nov. 16. TexasFootball.com's scouting partner, Next Level Athlete, views Paul as a high-ceiling prospect.
He is one of the youngest players in the 2019 cycle, just turning 17 in November.
"HUGE," Next Level Athlete scout Tommy Kaiser said in a word to describe Paul.
"He has big, strong heavy hands that can redirect defenders with a hand swipe. Paul can maul and throw defenders. Shows good nasty and finish. He was flying under the radar. Will probably need to red-shirt nd mature. He could play right tackle or guard."
