Bishop Dunne TE Elijah Yelverton (6'5, 225) helped lead Bishop Dunne to a district Championship, catching the game-winning touchdown pass in a critical win over Prestonwood Christian Academy.

"Oh, it was amazing," Yelverton said of the championship victory. "We went trips to the left side, and they split me out to the right. Me and the quarterback, Simeon (Evans), we have a connection with each other, and he threw it up, and I had to make a play."

"Just being a part of it is crazy. Can't think of much except how great my team did and just pulling through and getting the win together as brothers."

Yelverton has collected 18 scholarship offers so far, and he is not naming any public leaders at this point in the race, but there have been some schools that have caught his eye.

"LSU, Georgia, Arkansas, Oklahoma State -- definitely schools like that," Yelverton answered when asked about key offers so far in his recruitment.

Yelverton is hoping for a few more offers to add to his growing list.

"Definitely a couple of in-state like Texas and Texas A&M," Yelverton said. "Gotta love Texas in state schools and just definitely defending the home turf."

"And Ohio State possibly. That is a team that my family loves watching, and they have a great school. All three of those schools they just have a great tradition going and great football."

"Texas is a great school," Yelverton continued. "They're the becoming the big dogs now, and it looks like they're doing great things."

"And A&M...the same thing they're just making really good strides. I see how the school uses the tight end and everything about that is definitely interesting."

Yelverton has collected 15 receptions for 284 yards and four touchdowns in 2018.
