DeSoto DE/OLB Shemar Turner (6'4, 250) is one of the up and coming stars in the TXHSFB Class of 2021.
Turner is enjoying a breakout season in 2018.
"I feel like I have good power moves," Turner said when asked about his strengths. "I have quick moves. I am good with the spin. Some things I feel like I need to work on are that I am attacking the quarterback at times too much, I need to sit back."
"Colleges are coming after me because I am big, athletic, fast, and I can get to the quarterback when I need to get to the quarterback."
Turner plays OLB, but he knows that he will most likely evolve and grow into a DE over time.
"We are outside linebackers, but we are D-ends at the same time," Turner explained. "We are hybrids. If I had to pattern my game after somebody, it would probably be Ray Lewis with a little bit of Demarcus Lawrence in there, a little splash.
Turner recently picked up his first Power Five Conference offer from Baylor in the Big 12.
"Baylor was a blessing," Turner said. "I was surprised, but I thank God for that offer. "I have been on a couple of visits there. It is nice. I have gone to one game down there. Baylor is a good school."
"I also have an offer from South Alabama and Alabama A&M. I am also thankful for the offers from them; they are good offers too. I am very excited for all my offers."
"TCU is looking at me and Texas. TCU is a good school, and so is Texas."
Turner took a unofficial visit to Texas Tech last weekend.
