Evan Henry, a 6-foot-3, 325-pound offensive lineman from DeSoto HS is considering offers from programs like ULM and Colorado State, but he is still on the P5 radar.
"I take my first official visit to ULM this week after our Thursday game, and I plan to go to Colorado State after the season to visit them," Henry said when asked about his current recruiting picture.
"Somebody that is really looking at me hard is Stanford. I am smart, and I am big, so let's hope."
Henry -- who would be a good fit in the smash-mouth Stanford offense -- expanded a bit more on the interest he is receiving from the Cardinal.
"It is a waiting game," Henry informed. "They have offered five offensive linemen, and they have gotten four of them to commit, let's just hope that I can sneak my way in. It is pretty heavy interest. We talk at least once a week. Coach (Kevin) Carberry is a great guy, and I think I can get an offer from them. "
Henry has helped lead DeSoto to an 8-1 start. He is one of the state's most experienced and consistent offensive linemen, but he has shown better mobility and technique improvements as a senior.
"I have improved so much," Henry said. "I have become a leader on this team. I am trying to be more aggressive when it comes to run blocking. My pass blocking has gotten much better. One thing I tried to pride myself on improving is my pulls. My pulls are really good now. I have worked all summer on them, and I am here now.
"I learned from my older brothers. I still talk to Xavier (Newman), Edward (Ingram), and Josh (Jynes). We still have great communication. I know to wear this #74 that you have got to show out. You have got to show that you can carry the torch."
Henry was named the Next Level Athlete Showcase OL MVP in Dallas.
