Burleson Centennial is in an unfamiliar spot: looking for a new head football coach.
Kyle Geller — the only coach the Spartans have ever had after opening the program in 2012 — will move into Burleson ISD administration, sources confirm to Dave Campbell's Texas Football, opening up one of the most intriguing jobs in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Geller leaves the sideline after going 91-58 in his 13 seasons at the helm of the Spartans, including 11 playoff appearances. His best year came in 2022, when the Spartans made a surprise run to the 5A Division I regional final with a 12-2 mark. Previous to his arrival at Centennial, Geller spent four seasons as head coach at Mansfield Summit before spending a single season leading Carrollton Creekview.
Geller's promotion to Burleson ISD administration leaves open a highly coveted job, though it comes with big shoes to fill. Sources tell Dave Campbell's Texas Football to expect a statewide search for the next head coach, with a target hire date of early March.
