Five TXHSFB Prospects on the Rise powered by Playmaker Recruiting (October)

A look at five prospects in Texas who are on the rise in recruiting circles, including RB Brendon Haygood, LB Braylon Williams and OL Kennedy Brown.

2026 OL Kennedy Brown (Kingwood): In less than a month, offers have poured in from Texas Tech, UTSA, UTEP, Baylor, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Houston for the mammoth offensive tackle with a 92-inch wingspan. It's his rare combination of length, upside, and aggressiveness that has college coaches buzzing—Brown checks in at 6'5, 285.

2025 OL Kirk Gildon (Temple): The 6-foot-6, 285-pounder has emerged as a force during his senior year, earning offers from UTEP, Texas Southern, and Texas State. Known for overpowering opponents at the point of attack, he's making a strong case as one of the top linemen in Central Texas.

2025 RB Brendon Haygood (Sachse): All Haygood needed was to announce his commitment to Boise State to trigger a surge of interest. Since that announcement, the 5-foot-10, 180-pounder has added offers from Missouri, Texas Tech, Houston, Cal and Virginia Tech. Despite the growing attention, he could stay true to his original commitment and follow in the footsteps of Ashton Jeanty.

2027 LB Braylon Williams (Arlington Lamar): The 6-foot-1, 225-pound defensive force has been on fire on the recruiting trail, racking up offers from Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and Ole Miss in just the past month. Recently named a DCTF four-star prospect and added to the prestigious five-star watchlist, he is primed to be one of the top-rated defenders in the 2027 recruiting class.

2025 Lufkin DB Evan Young (Lufkin): The Panthers boast one of the top defensive units in the state, holding opponents to under nine points per game, and much of that success stems from Young's efficiency in the secondary. The 6-foot, 180-pounder is starting to see his stellar play pay off, recently securing his first Power Four offer from Michigan State. The Spartans join a growing list of suitors, including Louisiana, North Texas, Texas State, UTEP and UTSA.
