One of the most attractive small schools jobs in Central Texas opened up Monday morning as Granger ISD announced the promotion of athletic director/head football coach Stephen Brosch to principal at Granger High School.
Brosch has spent the past four seasons leading the Lions program, posting an impressive 40-10 mark. He led the Lions to three straight seasons of at least 10 wins and a trip to the 2A-Division II regional finals in 2022.
Brosch was named a Dave Campbell’s Texas Football 40 Under 40 coach in the 2023 summer magazine as well.
In a statement to DCTF, Granger ISD superintendent Jeni Neatherlin stated, “Coach Brosch has done a phenomenal job as Head Football Coach and athletic director for Granger ISF. I know his skillset will serve us well as he takes on the next step in his career as our high school principal. When I met him he told me his career goals and I know that he is ready. The next leader of Granger Lion Athletics will have BIG shoes to fill. We are looking for someone who communicates well, is great with kids, highly organized, efficient and is a winner. Let’s go!”
Expect Granger ISD to conducts a nationwide search for its next athletic director/head football coach as the growing community expects plenty of interest in the position due to the location near Austin, but also with plenty of new facilities coming in 2025. GISD is building a new high school along with totally new athletic facilities coming, including a new fieldhouse, weight room and stadium.
