Texarkana Pleasant Grove DE Lance Jackson (6'5, 245) committed to Texas on Sunday over Arkansas, Alabama, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech offers.
"I like the Texas offer because they kind of waited on me and built some tension," Jackson said.
I just have a good relationship with coach 'PK' (Pete Kwiatkowski) and can’t see me playing for anyone else and I just love it in Austin, and I know that’s where I want to be."
Jackson is rated as one of the state's most elite prospects, checking in at No. 10 in the DCTF 2025 DCTF Rising Hot 100. and the No. 1 DE.
Pleasant Grove head coach Josh Gibson believes it is his work ethic that makes him special.
Lance is one of the most talented high school football players I’ve ever coached," Gibson said. "What sets him apart and makes him elite is his work ethic and drive to be great. There is not a player that is going to outwork Lance."
Jackson is the younger brother of Arkansas DL Landon Jackson.
