UIL Announces Important 2024 Football Dates: Summer Workouts, Spring Ball, Regular Season Kickoff

The UIL announces important dates for the 2024 Texas High School Football season, including when summer workouts begin, when spring ball starts and what day the season starts.

The University Interscholastic League (UIL) on their website has released tentative football dates for the 2024 season, although these dates are tenatitve they are the most likely the key dates you will need to know for the 2024 season.

Summer workouts for schools that did not participate in spring football will begin on Monday August 5. Schools that participated in spring football will begin workouts on Monday August 12. Last year for the first time in recent memory schools began practice in July, but the calendar worked out a bit differently in 2024.

The first regular season games will take place on Thursday August 29, with the first Friday night of the season being Friday August 30. 

The 2024 regular season will wrap up with games being being held Thursday November 7 to Saturday November 9, (district certification for the playoffs will be on November 9 as well). 

The 2024 Texas High School Football playoffs will kickoff on Thursday November 14, which will culminate in the 2024 UIL Football state championships which are slated to begin on Wednesday December 18 and run through Saturday December 21.
