Report: Baylor QB Blake Shapen to enter transfer portal

Baylor Bears starting quarterback Blake Shapen will enter the transfer portal, leaving Dave Aranda with a decision to make on who to tab as QB1 in 2024.

Baylor starting QB Blake Shapen will enter the transfer portal, according to ESPN.

Shapen started eight of Baylor's game this season and all 13 for the Bears in 2022. He's thrown for 5,574 yards, 36 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. He'll be immediately eligible. 

In 2021 as a freshman, he set a new Big 12 Championship Game record for consecutive completions going 17-of-17 to start the game. Sunday, TexasFootball.com reported that Dave Aranda would part ways with current offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes.
