Big Game Prediction: Whitney (8-0, 6-0) at Grandview (7-1, 6-0)

Mason Seely and Jairdyn Anderson lead the Whitney Wildcats against Ryder Hayes, Anthony Berrones and the Grandview Zebras in a Week 10 2023 TXHSFB showdown.

Whitney (8-0, 6-0) at Grandview (7-1, 6-0): Things are starting to shake out in 7-3A Division I and, as most expected, it’s going to come down to Whitney and Grandview for bragging rights in this very top-heavy district.

Whitney has won its six district games by an average of just over 40 points per game, while Grandview’s average margin is 37.5 points.

Whitney rolled past Maypearl last week, 71-14, as QB Mason Seely threw for 338 yards and five touchdowns; WR Jairdyn Anderson had 10 receptions for 151 yards and three touchdowns as well.

Grandview got pushed but survived a tough West squad on the road, 21-19. QB Ryder Hayes and WR Anthony Berrones connected on a pair of touchdown passes to push the Zebras past a West squad that had beaten them the past two years.

Whitney hasn’t been tested since a 32-10 win over West about a month ago, so it’ll be interesting to see if the Wildcats are able to go on the road into a tough environment and escape with a win and a district crown, but this Whitney squad is very talented, and this appears to be their time.

Stepp’s Pick: Whitney by 6
