White Oak ISD on Thursday named former Robinson head coach Mike Ludlow as the next athletic director/head football coach at White Oak High School. He'll replacing Kris Iske who announced his retirement shortly after the end of the football season.
Ludlow, a native of Beckville, has spent most of his time coaching in East Texas as he’s most notably been an assistant coach at Texarkana Texas High and Marshall. He also spent two seasons as the head coach at Grand Saline from 2011-2012.
“I’m really excited to be back home in East Texas," Ludlow said. "We are less than hour away from my family and to get everyone together and be in one of the top school districts in East Texas was huge for us. I’ve got three kids who will be in White Oak schools and I’m excited to get going, meet the kids and build on the success White Oak’s had in other sports and in academics. Success leaves clues and there’s a lot of clues to be found in White Oak and I’m ready to get to work."
He spent time at North Forney as the offensive coordinator before coming to Central Texas last year where he coached Robinson to a 3-7 record before resigning his post in December. He takes over a White Oak squad that also posted a 3-7 mark in 2022.
