Bad news is contagious. The Houston Cougars know that well. An overtime loss to Tulane at home was followed by the loss of one of Houston's best offensive weapons.
The Houston Chronicle reports that running back Ta'Zhawn Henry is out for an extended period of time after ankle surgery. The senior from Houston Lamar transferred to Houston from Texas Tech prior to the 2020 season. He played in 13 last season and finished second on the team in rushing with 524 yards and seven touchdowns. Henry rushed for 220 yards and a pair of scores on 51 carries through Houston's first five games. The Cougars started the season without running back Alton McCaskill, who hurt his knee in spring practice. Houston is 2-3 heading into a Week 6 road game against Memphis.
