The No. 1 Prospect Will Vary Greatly from Site to Site
Who is the best TXHSFB prospect in the Class of 2024?
So far, we've seen five different prospects named No. 1.
Rivals.com named Duncanville OLB/DE Colin Simmons as the No. 1 player in the nation, but no other site even has him rated as the top player in the state.
247Sports has already named two players as No. 1 (WR Jelani Watkins, CB Kobe Black).
TexAgs.com views Katy Tompkins OT Ashton Funk as No. 1...247Sports just named him a three-star!
On3.com has named Lake Belton WR Micah Hudson No. 1.
Buckle up, as there will be a lot of rankings diversity in this class and it won't just be the No. 1 player who we are debating.
Allen is Home to the State's Best QB
Michael Hawkins (6'2, 185) is the most natural QB in the class and will become the consensus No. 1 QB in the state. Hawkins has the pedigree, the speed, and the arm strength to climb up to the top of recruiting boards nationally and has already caught the eye of many top college programs like Alabama and Oklahoma.
Hawkins was the QB MVP at the Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Dallas.
All Five DCTF Five-Star Prospects Will Play Defense
This has a 50-50 chance of happening for the first time.
Texas always produces great players on offense, but there is a chance that the five highest-rated prospects in the state will be defensive players in 2024.
Here are five names we like today.
- CB Kobe Black - Waco Connally
- S Jaydan Hardy - Lewisville
- OLB/DE Colin Simmons - Duncanville
- DE Nigel Smith - Melissa
- DE Zina Umeozulu - Allen
