Often, a player is requested to make a position change when the team's needs become apparent. 

Goose Creek Memorial 2022 OT Riley Banks (6-7, 260) was asked to switch from quarterback and tight end to make his new home on the offensive line, and he made it happen!

"I feel like I am getting better at the right tackle position. I used to play tight end and quarterback," Banks said. "I played both of those positions before I moved to tackle. I have gotten better with my techniques and feeling more comfortable at this position."
 
As he progresses on the line and helps his team earn wins, he hopes that his improvements will lead to more activity on the recruiting trail. 

To date, schools like "Houston and Texas" are some of the schools on his goals list. Currently, he is working on getting more interest to come his way.
 
He is doing plenty to make that happen.
 
"I would say that my strong work ethic is a place where I am strong. Putting my all into my work is something I have done my whole career," Banks said. "I have gotten much more confident in my position since last year, with showing better technique and more power with my hands."

Banks had a chance to show his worth at offensive tackle at The Next Level Athlete Texas Top 100 Showcase in Houston, where TexasFootball.com Senior Analyst Greg Powers scouted him. 

"Banks is a very long offensive tackle who can bend," Powers said. "He is still developing strength but has the type of frame that will catch college coach's attention if and when they have the chance to see him in person. I love that he has been able to handle the transition from quarterback physically and has the smarts to excel." 

"He will only get better with time, but the first two months after this season are going to tell the tale of how high and how quickly he climbs the charts. If he dedicates himself 100 percent to adding the needed mass and upper body strength in the weight room, then he will be a division one prospect."
