Leading the charge for Austin Westlake and a hot 5-0 start is 2022 QB Cade Klubnik (6-2, 185).
“Things are going good. The team is definitely putting up points, and the defense has only given up 7,” Klubnik said. “Offensive line is good, and the running backs and receivers are making plays. These guys help us go and are making me look good.”
While the team is rolling, Klubnik has shown well. His level of play has gained him attention on the national stage.
In January, Klubnik hauled in his first offer from Baylor. Since then, more than 20 offers have come in for the talented signal-caller.
“I have over 20 offers, but I would say that a few stand out for me. Auburn, North Carolina, Arkansas, Ole Miss Arizona State,” Klubnik said. “The other one on my standout list is from Georgia, which I just got (recently).”
Klubnik is also getting heavy interest from a couple of other Top 25 teams in Clemson and Ohio State. In January, he and his family had set up to visit 3-4 programs that never happened. As it stands now, Klubnik hopes to have a busy spring with plenty of college visits.
Confidence and presence are just a few of the attributes college coaches say that he brings to the field.
“Coaches love how relaxed I am in the pocket. I can sit in there and be patient and deliver the ball,” Klubnik said. “They like my accuracy and how I can use my legs when needed. I know I can always be better, but I think I’m doing pretty good right now.”
Note: Texas extended Klubnik an offer after this interview was conducted.
