Perryton Down to Two
It appears Perryton is down to two candidates for their HFC/AD job and neither appears to be the current HFC Stephen Coursey. Coursey, who was HFC only as Perryton had a separate athletic director, had to re-apply and interview for the new combined role. It appears the two finalists for the job are a current head coach in South Texas with panhandle ties and the other is a former head coach in South Texas and West Texas with ties to the South Plains. There’s no word on when a decision will come down as it appears the final round of interviews won’t take place until the CoVid-19 pandemic ends.

Copperas Cove Hires Jason Hammett
Copperas Cove ISD promoted assistant head coach Jason Hammett to the position of HFC/AD on Monday afternoon. This will be Hammett's first head coaching gig and he'll be Cove's third head coach in four seasons. He also spent time as an assistant coach at Corsicana and Burleson Centennial prior to joining the staff at Ennis. He takes over a Bulldogs program that went 3-7 in 2019 and he’ll look to bring some stability to a program that is now on their third head coach in four seasons, after 24-years of stability under Jack Welch, who is now an assistant on staff at Texas A&M-Commerce.
