Early Signing Period Central: TCU Horned Frogs

A TCU fan's one-stop-shop for the Early Signing Period. Who were the top signings and how well did the Horned Frogs recruit the Lone Star State?

Three Key Additions

Who were the highest-rated signees or prospects who might come in and make a significant impact?

OT Garrett Hayes - Athens: The highest-rated offensive line signing in the Gary Patterson era. Virtually college-ready size but space to add plenty more if desired. An established powerlifter who's strength and explosion manifest on the field, particularly in the run game.

WR Quentin Johnston - Temple: Four-star who flipped from Texas to TCU just days before national signing day. Outstanding leaper with big-play speed thanks to long-striding gait. Should provide a red zone and vertical field-stretching option in college.

DT Patrick Jenkins - John Ehret (La.): He is playing running back on the first clip of his senior highlight tape and making defenders miss tackles in the open field. What else needs to be said about the 6-foot-2, 285-pound defensive tackle?

Fan Favorite

What prospect was a fan favorite on social media or a local hero who starred near the campus?

OT Michael Nichols - Justin Northwest: Nichols was a late bloomer but has actual left tackle upside. The Horned Frogs did not sign a player from Fort Worth or Aledo, so Nichols carries the designation of being the local hero.

Super Sleeper

We pick one prospect on the commit list and break down how he might outplay his ranking in college.

ATH Caleb Medford - Henderson:
It is hard to believe a player with Medford's skill set is flying this far under the radar at the East Texas powerhouse. The 6-foot-2, 190-pounder could play wide receiver or safety.
