DCTF Rankings - By the Numbers

The Top 5 highest-rated prospects in each recruiting cycle will be awarded five-star status, and they will be unveiled periodically throughout the year.

The Top 50 highest-rated prospects in each recruiting cycle will be four-star prospects or higher. The rankings will be expanded on a set schedule on the 15th of every month, but changes can and will happen at any time. 

The Top 250 highest-rated prospects in each recruiting cycle will be three-star prospects, but more three-stars may be awarded based on talent level.

The Top 10 TXHSFB Prospects

Today, DCTF has released the Top 10 for the Class of 2020, and at least 250 prospects will have DCTF profiles and be ranked by National Signing Day in December. 

The First DCTF Five-Star

2020 North Shore RB Zachary Evans (5'11, 200) is the first player to be selected as a five-star prospect by Dave Campbell's Texas Football. 

In 2018, Evans helped lead the Mustangs to a 6A-DI state championship. He rushed for 1,784 yards and scored 32 touchdowns, earning all-district and all-state honors. 

On the recruiting front, Evans has collected a lengthy offer list but has narrowed his on 11: Alabama, Georgia. LSU, Missouri, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Texas, Texas A&M and Washington. 

Evans is rated as the No. 1 overall recruit and the No. 1 RB in the state per the DCTF Prospect Rankings.

Q: How do I get a DCTF profile? 
A: If you are a TXHSFB coach or potential recruit, please send player profile requests and recruiting updates to greg.powers@texasfootball.com. 

Q: Will all of the top prospects in the state receive a DCTF profile?
A: No. DCTF will only feature a select set of recruits each year. We plan to feature 250-300 profiles in each class year.  

Q: How are the rankings compiled?
A: DCTF is partnered with Next Level Athlete, an NCAA-certified scouting organization. The TXHSFB coach's recommendation and in-person evaluations play a significant role in DCTF's rankings process. Through those combined efforts we will try to provide our fans an accurate guideline to track the top college-bound prospects.
