Windthorst players sweep Class 1A APSE All-State superlatives

Windthorst is in the Class 1A Division II state championship game for a reason. At least two come to mind pretty quickly.
Quarterback Brad Green and safety Jason McCoy won the offensive and defensive MVP awards, respectively, on the Associated Press Sports Editors all-state team released Monday.
Green, a four-year starter, has combined for nearly 3,000 yards of offense and has 41 TDs this season. McCoy, meanwhile, recorded 138 tackles, 8 INTs, six forced fumbles and four recovered fumbles. This was his first full season to start.
The last time teammates won the MVP awards came in 2003, when DB Ty Kuhn and current A&M starting QB Stephen McGee won the awards at 3A Burnet.
